FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Tutors are invaluable. They also come at a premium. I try to keep my prices low, so that tutoring is more accessible to more people. Rates are set according to age of student, complexity of subject, and distance from me. I offer a 10% discount for purchasing 16 total hours, usually in 8 sessions of two-hours each.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Working relationships are so important. If you like and get along with your tutor, you're going to get a lot more out of your sessions. *I like to meet my students, get to know them, and talk about their long term goals and expectations of tutoring. Then, we set up a concrete plan for obtaining those goals and define what role tutoring will play in that.* I take a personal interest in helping students get where they want to be in the long term, which goes beyond just getting them through the specific problem they wish to address through tutoring. I love getting to know people and helping them, it's a great feeling.
