Artifact Photography

I am a corporate attorney who found his art in photography. The attention to detail that is so important in drafting contracts is the same attention to detail I use in my photography. The best shots require careful planning, attention to lighting and movement and constant adjustment of camera settings, but ultimately those split seconds when everything comes together can never be fully planned — they are the brief moments while someone forgets they are in front of a camera or when they let their natural smile break through their posed smile. Attention to those details is what truly sets a memorable image apart from all the others that are so easily forgotten. I love shooting portraits in Atlanta, one of the greatest cities for portrait and lifestyle photography, primarily because of the people here. I’ve lived in both the New York and Los Angeles areas and while they are exceptional creative hubs, they don’t have as much of the genuine good-naturedness that is so easy to find in Atlanta. Not only do we have some of the same natural beauty and thriving cityscapes that provide limitless canvases for artistic expression, but we also have approachable creative people that want to create great images simply out of the goodness of their heart. I wouldn’t be doing what I do, if it weren’t for the people with whom I’ve had the pleasure to work here in Atlanta.
