I’m a trained scientist turned science teacher. As a 10+ year educator I have experience in public, charter and private high schools as well as college. I have taught a variety of subjects including biology, A.P & I.B. Biology, chemistry, environmental science and an Introduction to Biological Research Methods course for college students. I was struggling in math and science and she was able to get me from a D to an A, she takes her time when she’s teaching and she’s very good at explaining things. I’ve had past tutors that worked way too fast for me and I never learned anything, but when I went to STEMUcated she went as slow as she had to for me to understand.

Ms.Lane was a teacher who actually prepared me for college. She helped me in my college class because she taught like a college professor. She taught us and made it interesting and relatable to things we actually dealt with through out our every day life, so we could understand it. When I got to college I wasn’t as overwhelmed as the other students in my classes. I already knew the content and was able to refer back to Ms.Lanes biology website to help, if I didn’t grasp the concept right away in class. Due to the fact that ms.lane didn’t “baby” us in her class I wasn’t “intimidated” by my professors harsh or fast teaching.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Modeled based on the African Proverb, "It Takes A Village", STEMAssist utilizes group tutorial. This reduces the cost per student to $25 per hour. Minimum number of students in a group is 3 and the maximum is 5. You can form your own group or be placed in a group with other students also taking the same class.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Customers will contact me if they are interested for a phone consultation. This phone consultation will include a discussion of the challenges the student is currently having as well as any important assessments, projects, or labs due.
