- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Discounts are for prepaid voice lessons only. Prepaid lessons come with a weekly time slot allotted just for you. Lessons can be rescheduled or canceled within a 24-hour notice. Lessons that have not been rescheduled or canceled within a 24-hour term will be forfeit. The time allotted for your lesson is to ensure there is sufficient time to assist with your learning. Arriving more than 15 minutes late for an appointment may result in the appointment being forfeited and may be counted as a No-Show.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will first get to know you, your voice, and your personal goals as a singer. While the lesson will be custom designed to fit your goals and needs, all lessons start with the basics: a deep body warm-up followed by breathing and pranayama exercises. A typical lesson is broken down into two sections, Technique, where the student learns vocal exercises that strengthen and awakened the voice, and Repertoire where we apply the lessons learned in Technique to tackle vocal and musical challenges within a song. Advanced students will be instructed on artistry and interpretation as well as microphone work and working with a band or orchestra. The student is asked to dress comfortably to allow for flexible movement as there might be floor and bodywork involved. I want my students to feel safe and supported when they walk into my studio. Singing involves the entire body: the physical and emotional body. I offer a relaxing spa-like environment where the student feels free to explore and flourish as a vocal artist.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
15 years of experience performing 7 years of experience teaching BFA from The Boston Conservatory at Berklee in Musical Theatre with an emphasis in Stage Direction, class of 2009
