We can't say enough about Mark! He is currently preparing and tutoring my daughter for the upcoming ACT's. He is so professional, patient and provides so much knowledge. Not only is he helping her with the Math portion but also with comprehension piece of it all. He's always so thorough making learning easier and less stressful. Sometimes teens can be very critical about who's tutoring them, especially my daughter. She absolutely loves Mark, and we will continue to use him after the ACT. This is your guy if you need real tutoring!!!!Nov 25, 2019Verified

Great Tutor. I wish I could afford to use his services multiple times per week. I would definitely hire again.Sep 12, 2018Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? My quoted rate is normally for a one-hour session. Some students benefit from 90-minute sessions or two-hour sessions instead, and we can facilitate that easily. I generally work on a no-obligation basis. I do not require a certain number of sessions to be pre-paid; however, if you would like to pre-pay for future sessions, we can work out a discounted rate for that.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? For Math students, I like to take a look at some of the more recent work they have done so I can determine how well they understand it. The parts they got wrong and the parts they got right are useful for this. I can determine their level of understanding, whether they got the actual answer right or wrong, by hearing them work through the problem or issue. Many times, a student will get the right answer without truly understanding why it's right, and I can help them with that. With ACT/SAT students, if they have taken the exam previously, we can look at the previous results and determine where the most help is needed. If they have not taken the exam, we can do a practice test to get a feel for where help is needed most.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I hold a bachelor's degree from Georgia State University in English with a concentration in rhetoric & composition. Previously, I was in a math-heavy program in the Navy and majored in engineering in college. I went through all the math classes for my engineering degree, up to Calculus 3, before deciding to switch gears and go for an English degree instead. My mix of training and real-world experience makes it enjoyable for me to help students with a variety of subjects, including college-prep exams like the ACT and SAT.
