Nick Temples was hired to come and install a deadbolt in an old entry door. He said it was no problem and he would be able to do it the next day. He showed up, drilled a new hole for the deadbolt and finds out he can't install because the backdrop is too narrow. He then said he would need to use the old hole (where the doorknob was ) to install the deadbolt. Meanwhile he would put temporarily a dummy doorknob in the new hole he had just drilled and come back the next day with the part he needed to complete the job. He never came back (13 weeks later). We exchanged messages several times and every time there was an excuse and a promise to come finish the job shortly. I have talked to other professionals to assess this case and they all have said he should have never drilled a new hole that was next to a glass pane and with such short distance to the edge of the door because there was not enough backdrop to house the latch. Just by looking at where the doorknob hole was, he should have known it was an impossible location and found an alternative part of the door to install. Now I have a damaged damaged door that needs to be replaced.
