It's too bad that thumbtack won't allow me to include the other two descriptors of value and punctuality because Jay and Tracey where are the epitome of how business should be run.
When I reached out to them on thumbtack, less than 24 hours later they had contacted me and we're looking at their schedule. Shortly thereafter I was on their books. They came out at exactly the time they said they would, and they were even running a little late but they did call me to let me know which is a rarity anymore. Who would have thought common courtesy would become a rare commodity?
They came to LaGrange even though they live in Columbus which also pleasantly surprised me. The price they quoted was within $200 of what I expected, materials have gone up so much and wages have two so I did estimate on the higher end compared to what I am used to but they came in below that which I considered to be a win. No sticker shock basically. They came out within a week after I accepted their bed. Work done two days later and instant billing by email. Couldn't have been easier. Great contact throughout the process and they are going to be my contractor for life. Wonderful people besides all of that. Probably goes without saying... they aren't just good business people but good humans too.
I'm proud to put a good word out here for them, even if it means that they may not be as available for me next time. :)

JB construction was one of the best experiences I have ever had was someone coming into my home and remodeling a bathroom from the floor up. They will wonderful personalities to have in the house during the time that they were doing their work. I really enjoyed them. Just a fabulous job and a fabulous outfit. This was actually two projects I engaged JB Construction in - one was replacing water damaged wood laminate, the other was a complete top-to-bottom bathroom remodel. It included changing out the bathtub, adding a vanity with 2 sinks instead of one, doing the tile work on walls and floor and smoothing out and painting knock-out wall finish.
I have had many remodels done in my various homes and can safely say JB ranks at the top.Those gentlemen worked non-stop 7 days straight from early morning to night. Talk about stamina! As happens in remodeling, some inconsistencies in electrical and plumbing were uncovered that they expertly were able to address and complete to code. This is a team where you can have a great open dialogue and discuss a better and more cost effective option.
On top of being very diligent and putting a lot of pride in his work, you will notice that Jay and Heath are genuinely good guys, with a great sense of humor and wonderful demeanor. I'm glad thumbtack helped me find them. The project turned out absolutely beautiful and I am thrilled with the results. I will use JBC again, no doubt.

How did you get started doing this type of work?
I got into the construction business at the age of 18. I got into the business because I knew I did not want to work behind a desk all day. I have stayed in the business I like to build things and see that I helped create that beautiful project. I also enjoy making my customers vision for the project come to life and see how satisfied and pleased they are.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I do many jobs for my customers. I will do anything that they wish and sometimes they ask for my guidance and I enjoy helping design the room, floor or choosing the best color and giving them another perspective to look at.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I recently installed hardwood flooring in a kitchen. I used recycled original hardwood flooring from a demolished house and some new oak hardwood. The wood had 3 coats of ugly brown paint over the hardwood. I choose to install it diagonally. It took longer time but it is gorgeous. After sanding the floor you could not tell the difference between the old or new. I almost left it natural but we then decided to add a golden oak stain.
