FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Attended the University of Georgia for Landscape and Grounds management. Studied under some of the most respected in the field of plants...Professor Michael Dirr (woody ornamentals), Professor Richard Smalley(design and management) and Professor Alan Armitage(herbaceous perennial plants).
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Grew up watching my mom work in the yard...watering her plants well into the night. Back then it felt more like a chore, but helping my parents (both of whom have been certified Master Gardeners of Georgia for more than 20 years) remodel and upgrade their landscapes over the years resulted in a passion for "working in the dirt" as my mom broadly labeled anything to do with the yard.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Someone who cares about the work they are doing. Often hard work, and make no mistake, ALL landscaping in hard work, is mistaken for good work. A certain amount of baseline knowledge on plants and growth patterns and soil texture/types, hydrology, etc is needed to have long term success from any installation.
