Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I have had hundreds of hours of training on the installation of doors, windows, floors, trim carpentry and more. I have installed everything from airplane hanger doors to doggy doors and have supervised whole house renovations. What sets me apart from others is my extensive experience in the commercial and residential markets and my attention to detail. All of this experience has given me a unique insight into what works, and what will prevent a warranty later on. Put my experience to work for you. What I like most about my job is tailoring the job to fit exactly what the customer wants at a fair price. I can usually offer options on materials that the customer may not be familiar with.

Hired on Thumbtack

Hired on Thumbtack

I was fortunate enough to have found Curtis on Thumbtack initially looking for someone to do some handyman work on my 3 bedroom condo to bring it back to rental condition, after the previous tenant basically destroyed the place. After seeing his profile and the wonderful reviews everyone was giving him, as well as the pictures of previous work he had done for other people, I asked him to also take a look at my 1968 split level home we had just purchased, to see if he would be able to do the major renovations to update the place. He was knowledgeable, friendly and understood what my plans entailed. After meeting with several other local contractors and considering several bids, Curtis stood out because he was one of the few contractors that would work directly on the home and not subcontract every part of the job. I work from home, so I wanted a contractor that would work with me and keep me updated on all that was going on. I wanted to be an informed homeowner and wanted to learn more about what it took to actually remodel a home. After meeting with Curtis and seeing that his bid was reasonably priced, we immediately began working on getting a contract together. In the meantime, we were overwhelmed with the amount of work the condo needed, that we hired him to begin work on getting the condo ready for rental before working on our home, which took him a week. The condo looked great and move in ready, all we had to do was give it a good cleaning and we were able to rent the place out quickly. He painted, put bathroom fixtures up, fixed the water damaged ceiling, some trim work, replaced weather stripping in the door, fixed the screen door, closet doors and adjusted the kitchen cabinet doors. He then began the major renovations on our kitchen and all 3 bathrooms that weekend. The renovations consisted of the demo of the kitchen and bathrooms down to the studs in the wall, then bringing down the wall between the kitchen and dining area and putting up headers to open up a larger entryway into the living room (to make the kitchen larger and more open concept) and opening up the bathroom walls and ceiling to make the master bathroom larger and more open. He then replaced and installed insulation in the walls and ceiling, as well as the dry wall, crown molding, trim and painted the walls. He installed our kitchen and bathroom cabinets as well as the fixtures. He replaced the old 1968 iron railing and replaced it with the INOX stainless steel railing. He installed three French doors, and made and installed three barn doors. Two of the barn doors were fun and functional chalkboard painted doors for our kitchen/sun room entryway and the other being a beautiful custom made, wood tongue and groove door for our master bathroom. During all the major renovations and updates, he coordinating the plumbing, electrical and flooring. He helped me bring my dream kitchen and bathrooms to reality, while keeping me informed and allowing me to learn the ins and outs of home remodeling. The entire project took 10 weeks and was quite a task. He was able to work with me when things didn't quite work the way we had planned, helped guide the decision making and went above and beyond when it came to safety and sound choices for the building. Overall it was a great experience and not nearly as painful as you would expect major renovations to go. He cleaned up daily and didn't leave tools lying around, which is great since I've got a two year old and an eleven year old. I plan to hire him again for future work, like crown molding and an additional barn door, maybe replacing windows when we are ready to take on that task. You will not be disappointed by hiring Curtis. He is easy to work with and will go above the call of duty.

I needed a double door installed into the exterior of my home and it wasn't a task I felt comfortable with, nor had the tools to do myself. Curtis can to my home a few weeks before the job (we were getting concrete installed first) and he looked over the site and gave me some general information as to what it would take to complete the project. We then communicated via email to discuss timing and additional matters that needed to be addressed. Curtis coordinated with another vendor to come out on the day of the install to complete the difficult task of cutting a huge hole in the side of our stone facade home where the door was to be installed. Curtis arrived early with and worked with this team to ensure the cut was done right. He then spent the remainder of the day on the installation of the door, installing all the necessary steel framing and even adding masonry work where it was needed to finish off the area. He came with all the needed equipment and by the end of the day our beautiful new door was installed. Curtis and his team cleaned up the job site and ensured one last time that everything was in perfect working condition. My wife and I were amazed at the transformation this addition brought to our home and couldn't be happier with the work Intown Door Services did. They were professional, polite and did an amazing job. Highly recommended.

Curtis installed some storm doors for me and the service was excellent. He went out of his way to ensure that he did a great job and was willing to work around my schedule. One of the doors was defective, but Curtis was willing and did come back to my house the following week when the part came in to finish the job. Great job from a great guy!

We are incredibly happy with the work Curtis did for us. What he thought was going to be a 1 day job to install french doors turned into 2 full days of some ups and downs. Curtis was professional, timely, tidy, very nice and kept us informed along the way. We could not be happier with the work Curtis did. We will definitely use him again if we ever need help!!! Thank you!!!

Curtis installed some very difficult hardware into three pocket doors for us. He spent the good part of a day to get a job done that many others would not even attempt. Curtis is a honest first rate gentleman.
