Luis did a wonderful job to uninstall our old range hood and the customized hood cover. He then put on the backsplash tiles on the area. During the process, he helped ensure to leave the power supply in the exact area where it is needed for the installation of our new range hood. He was responsive, very professional and did an excellent job to complete the project leaving the kitchen area clean afterwards. Thank you very much! I would love to be a return customer if we have any future need that his team can help with.

If it were not for that Thumbtack commercial, I would not have found Luis (B&J Construction). He responded quickly and we set up a day for him to come out. He was one of three contractors we were getting quotes from. When Luis arrived, He had on a mask and when he came into our house, he removed his boots which I appreciated. He had his measuring tool and clip board, no winging the price as another contractor came here and did. Of the three quotes, Luis' was $4050, another company's quote was $5300, the third contractor wanted $6200. Before we hired him, Luis came out one more time so that we were on the same page about what I wanted. The first day Luis and his crew came out to work, they removed the garage door and inside wall, put up the framework, insulation, some other board stuff and black paper cloth sheet thingy (not sure what those are called), two windows, and the siding. They also painted the siding on day 1. So on the first day the garage door was replace with siding and the inside of the house on the other side of the siding was a brand new wall. The first, second, and third day was mudding and painting. The third and final day was electrical work ( 4 new outlets installed), molding, painting the new sheetrock, putting new shutters up, hanging up new blinds. I paid B&J a little extra money to paint another wall a different color (not pictured) and also to hang up the blinds. My neighbors were impressed with his work in so much that one of them came over while they were working and asked for Luis' business card. In the future, I plan to hire them for some recess lighting. Hire them because they work hard and the work is quality, not rushed garbage. This was our first construction project since living in the this house and I was nervous about hiring someone because I have heard horror stories but I was more comfortable with Luis because of his first visit to our home. Also, I saw his work on other projects that other Thumbtack customers posted (Also when he was here, he showed my husband and I current and past projects he's worked on such as decks, bathrooms and kitchens, one of which was destroyed by fire). I also went with him not only because of the price and professionalism, but also him having 20 years of experience. Hire B&J construction. You will not be disappointed.

Luis did an excellent job installing a dryer plug to charge my car.
His problem solving skills on routing the wire through many obstacles and his attention to detail make him my new go-to electrician.
Lastly, he was extremely kind to my pets as he worked.
I am looking forward to working with him and his team again.

Luis Paulino installed a new attic fan for me today. He also repaired some minor exterior trim issues around my home. I contacted Mr. Paulino on Tuesday through Thumbtack. He came out that day to give me an estimate and had me purchase the new attic fan. I contacted him on Wednesday morning to let him know I had the fan and he was at my home within an hour to install the fan. He was professional, knowledgable, and easy to work with. He was also reasonably priced. I will contact him in the future for repairs that are beyond my capability. I highly recommend Mr. Paulino. Thanks!

Luis (and who appeared to be his teenage son) improperly installed oak stairs at my home in April 2023. I had to call them back 2 weeks after the installation because some of the stairs were loose. Later, I learned that the stair treads weren't properly cut. There's a significant amount of space between the riser and the tread. The stairs all squeak and crackle when going up and down. The home is 6 years old and didn't have this issue until they removed the carpeting and improperly installed the stair treads. Please spend your money with a more skilled and reputable company. I saved $500 using this company and learned the hard way.
