We have experienced people in every trade, we know which product will work best in each situation and we work well as a team, operating in the most efficient order of operations. Most projects, even those that primarily involve one construction trade still involve other trades or effect other components in the house, so a generalist always operates as estimator, project manager and QC to make sure our customers understand the other components and issues that will come into play.
It's different every day, it's challenging, there's always more to learn, working with a variety of people from a variety of backgrounds, working in and out of the office at different times, and most of all, knowing that we helped someone solve their problem(s) and they are happier than when I first arrived.

Affordable Craftsmen helped us troubleshoot a problem with popping noises by recommending a structural engineering colleague. The engineer made a thorough inspection and verified that our framing is up to code. We reached out to several contractors and Affordable Craftsmen was the most responsive and professional.

Hey Andrea, was easy working with you and getting scheduled, Rhett enjoyed meeting you as well. So glad we could help and that it worked out to be nothing major! So many times we come behind other engineers or contractors that beat the "fear/danger drum" about things. Often they do need repaired, but they have also often been like that for 10-50 years or even longer without falling in or anyone getting hurt. So although great to get these things checked out for peace of mind, they rarely need fixed the following day and unfortunately, some take advantage and over charge for the repair work and hurry up the process to get the money and run. Gary came out and scoped the project. Within a couple days he had his guys out here getting it done! Team was great got everything done efficiently and were always on time
Had them come out to determine if a wall was load bearing. The engineer determined it wasn’t very quickly and was happy to advise me on some other structural questions around my home. $200 was a steal for the peace of mind knowing my home is structurally safe.
Thanks Matt, so glad we were able to help! Even if that wall had been structural, would have only been another $150 to get a drawing, beams sizing, often with multiple options and a letter, when most for same service are $750-1,500. Customers like you who want to know the truth and do things professionally are always great to work with! I cannot say enough good things about Gary and his team. I had never used thumbtack, and was pretty skeptical I would find someone that was trustworthy, but was getting desperate for new quotes that were more within our budget. We needed structural beams replaced in our new home. We had an original repair done by another contractor that created more problems, cost us a lot of money ,and still left us with the original issues. Gary was able to come in and do the original fixes, fix the other contractors work, and charged almost half of what our other quotes had been. I would recommend him to anyone and will be reusing him for future projects. We’re a Navy family and feel incredibly blessed to have found his company and wish we could bring him to future homes!!
