Jay did an excellent job regarding the project. He was able to cut the wall panel around the banister and make it look flawless. His suggestion of moving the doorbell box and outlet outward to flush with the panel made it look even better.
Excellent experience with Jay and we’ll definitely use him again. Arrived promptly at our arranged time and the work was excellent. Repaired plumbing, hung, patched & floated drywall, removed and repaired a vanity and mounted our tv to the fireplace. Rates were fair and the work was quality, I’d recommend him for your handyman/construction needs.

Working with Jay was great! We had some larger future needs, and some smaller immediate needs and he was able to come tackle a laundry list of random tasks like crawlspace cleaning, running some Ethernet cables thru the attic and walls, and working on faucets. Genuinely good person doing great work at a fair price. Cannot recommend enough.

Jay was great because he called and texted right away, then when I spoke to him over the phone ahead of time, he seemed to really take an interest in my project and think outside the box about how it can be fixed. He was polite, professional, pleasant, creative, and reasonably priced. I will definitely use him again!

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I use a spread sheet that calculates billing by adding labor at $30/hr plus the cost of cv materials that I have supplied plus 20% for profit and overhead costs. This comes out to $36/hr if there are no material costs. I use the same template to estimate bids or track “time and material” jobs.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After we initiate contact on Thumbtack, If the customer wants a fixed price and it seems like I need more information I will schedule a meeting at the job site to gather information and email a quote.
If the customer is okay with a time and material arrangement, then I go ahead and schedule the time.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I took a course in project management. I have worked in the residential renovation field for 20 years. I married a licensed Architect. =P
