- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Everyone's situation is different. Each person's current resume is in a different state of development, as is each person's career experiences and career goals. Also, customers will select different configurations of services including resume assistance, career coaching, revision of their LinkedIn profile, job search strategies and tactics, interview coaching, and job offer negotiation. The price you pay will depend on what assistance you request.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I start by learning about you. I want to understand your goals, what you have done so far to address them, and what you wish to accomplish. Next, I will fully explain how we will work together to achieve your objectives. I also want to answer any questions you may have. Of course, I will ask to see a copy of your latest resume or job description. If you are seeking to change jobs and know the kind of job you wish to have, I will ask for links to job postings for jobs you'd love to have and for which you are fully qualified. Then we'll arrange to meet (or talk on the phone). I will review with you in detail all relevant aspects of your career, education, skill set, and achievements, as well as answer any additional questions you may have. Next, we'll work to do whatever is necessary to accomplish your goals. And even after you have a resume you love and a job offer you have accepted, I encourage you to stay in touch because I want to do whatever I can to help you realize your goals.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started helping friends and acquaintances who were either unemployed or very motivated to leave their current employer. Every one of these people successfully found new employment. Along the way, I discovered I had a talent for this work. Soon, each of the people I helped began to refer their friends and colleagues. More and more people started using my services and a "career" was born!
