Introduction: The husband and wife team of DJ Boots Entertainment provides quality music entertainment and atmosphere to both private and public events, including weddings, birthdays, holiday and theme parties. Eric Boutin has many years of experience that includes entertaining crowds as a DJ and emcee. He has also DJed college radio in RI and MA as a student and later as a volunteer. With assistance from his wife, Jane, they provide a high quality sound system with lighting and a fog machine at no extra cost, if requested. For lights, they have an American DJ Revo 4, an ADJ Tri Phase, black lights and laser lighting. Whatever your musical tastes, expectations and presentation preferences may be, they will work closely with you, through correspondence and detailed planning, to ensure that your specific needs are met. Eric is an audiophile with a background in historic research and archival management. This has exposed him to the never-ending treasures of recorded sound. Though their strengths are in the genres of funk, soul, rock, hip hop, EDM and jazz, they continue to explore new sounds everyday. Music is a positive force in our lives. It has the power to enhance our mood and outlook on the world. We keep this in mind every time they have the opportunity to share their skills and knowledge of music with others. Our prices are reasonable and simple, never involving any hidden or complicated fees. A travel fee of distances over 50 miles from Newnan, GA may be added to the total cost. A service contract agreement will outline all the details that are negotiated between the client and DJ Boots Entertainment. Creating positive energy and sound to make people move, especially those who don't often get the chance to. My knowledge of music goes well beyond the pop world. Because I work to serve others, it is important to get a sense of what the crowd desires before I arrive at an event. This means clear and timely communication between myself and the organizers. Song recommendations are always easy for me. My background in the field of library and information studies has given me not only the communication skills to find out exactly what a user is looking for, but also the research skills to locate the correct items quickly. I am also a great mixer. When the dancing starts, that means you gotta keep the beat going. Ascending or descending beats per minute gradually. Smooth transitions from one song to the next with no dead air. Dead air is a DJ's worst enemy. Quickly transitioning from one genre to the next, or a slow song to a fast one, is to be avoided unless the DJ has some sort of audio glue to make it work.

Eric of DJ Boots Entertainment really set the tone for our wedding. He and his wife were really able to read a crowd, build up the energy and then keep it up. There was never a lull in the dancing. Not only did he take requests seamlessly, Eric had the ability to blend all sorts of genres to accommodate everyone which kept our guest s on the dance floor all night. I had so many of my guest come up to us after the wedding saying just how awesome our entertainment was! In addition to the party atmosphere at the reception being great, Eric worked with us in providing a mic and music for the wedding ceremony which was at the same location. He was really accommodating with us in customizing all of our ceremony music. The processional songs blended together seamlessly and the mic was at a level that our guests could hear. As an added bonus, Eric also provided dance floor lighting with his package. The lighting was accentuated with use of a fog machine. I was really hesitant about the fog machine, but it really was not over powering and made the dance floor the center of the show. Eric worked with us on our time line to make sure we stayed on schedule. He checked with us to make sure we were ready before any announcement. He was able to coordinate well with our other vendors. Finally, I wanted to add a note regarding their personal professionalism. During the time when Eric and his wife were eating their vendor meal, my nine year old nephew sought them out to ask a ton of questions. I explained to him that this was their break time and to give them space. Eric was happy to take the time to chat with him about DJing and gave him a business card which made my nephews night. I highly would recommend DJ Boots Entertainment if you are looking for a wedding DJ. They were easily one on the best vendors we worked with at our wedding.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Many of my quotes on Thumbtack are discounted rates. Travel fees may be added to distances over thirty miles from Newnan, GA. My standard pricing structure is listed on my website under pricing.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Always staying up to date on the latest trends in the DJ and music world. The brands I trust and use, Behringer speaker, Numark, Apple Macintosh, M-Audio, Akai, American DJ and Chauvet lights, are all at the forefront of the latest developments in audio technology. I'm always studying them like a kid in a candy store. Online forums, tech support, youtube, and professional (online and print) media outlets keep me informed and help answer many questions. Pros who've been successfully DJing much longer than I are kept close. They provide the bulk of education I need and seek often.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I am an audiophile, music and sound junkie, if you will. I love listening to, exploring, and talking about music. Playing music that stimulates others mentally, emotionally and physically, is why I DJ.
