Brigette R. says, "Jeremiah did an excellent job on our bookcase construction. He listened to what we were wanting and made it happen. He was very pleasant to work with, communicated well and was efficient with the time. My only feedback would be the paint finish did not look as professional as I would have expected for the price we paid. After the touch-ups dried the paint still looked splotchy in several areas due to the paint quality. We’re having to go back over quite a few areas ourselves. I also wish the wall, boxes and cabinet doors were painted and sprayed before they were installed to ensure max coverage and even finish. It would have taken a little longer but I would have gladly paid for the extra labor and a higher quality paint if given the option. A little more clarity around the paint process with brand recommendations would have been helpful. Overall would work with them again on the builtin construction process and still happy with the bookcase."See more

Brian H. says, "Geovani electric did an amazing job for our Cat6 rj45 install and helping us get a wired Ethernet connection next to our media center in our living room from way on the other side of our house. His workers were kind, courteous, and efficient. They were punctual, hard working, and thorough. I know our job was not easy but GEO Electric worked diligently taking care not to cause damage or cut unnecessary dry wall or any at all and cleaned up well after job was complete. I'm happy to award 5 stars and a muchas gracias to the team. The owner Geovani ended up coming to the job to check on the quality of the work and finish the job. I have heard he has over 20 years experience in this industry. I recommend this company highly."See more

FAQs

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to have someone hang your Christmas lights?

It will likely cost between $200 and $400 to hire someone to hang your Christmas lights and holiday decorations. For an accurate cost estimate, ask installers near you to give you a price quote. Let them know if you need them to supply the lights, how many you want to hang and other details about this project.

When should you hang Christmas lights?

There’s no set rule of when you should or shouldn’t hang your Christmas lights. Some homeowners wait until after Halloween or Thanksgiving. Others may choose to hang them a few weeks before Christmas or at the beginning of December.

What do you use to hang Christmas lights outside?

If you want to hang up Christmas lights (or other holiday light fixtures) outdoors, you’ll need the following:

  • Christmas and holiday lights
  • Extension cords
  • Gloves
  • Gutter clips
  • Ladder
  • Power stakes
  • Tape measure

Instead of hanging the Christmas lights yourself, you can hire a professional installer to take care of this project for you.

What is the best way to hang Christmas lights on your house?

The best way to hang Christmas lights on your house is to use some type of light clip (sometimes called gutter clips). To help ensure your safety, however, consider hiring a professional installer who has experience with hanging Christmas lights, handling electrical cords and using ladders.

How many feet of Christmas lights do you need for a house?

You’ll need to measure your house to figure out how many Christmas lights you need. Some homeowners may want to start with 60 feet of lights — or 200 feet. You can take the guesswork out of it by hiring a professional installer or handy person to help you measure and install your lights.

How much do I tip Christmas light installers?

How much you tip an installer who hangs your Christmas and holiday lighting is up to your discretion. Some people prefer to tip about 20% for services, while others may choose to tip anywhere from $20-$50. It’s up to you how much you choose to tip.
