I have been working with Rachel since April 2019. I am a tenure-track professor and I contacted Rachel because I needed a writing coach and an editor. English is not my first language and I tend to self-doubt a lot. I needed somebody to keep me on a schedule, a person who would check my English and my ideas, but also somebody who would give me honest feedback. Rachel does all of that and more! She is fantastic and I am so glad I found her! During our first Skype session, we discussed my needs and expectations. Then, we agreed on a schedule: I have one week to write a few pages and send them to Rachel on a Friday. She usually takes 5 days to check my English and the content of my paper. She then sends me a Word document with annotations on a Thursday and we go over them when we meet on Skype the next day. Thanks to that rhythm, I have been able to write the introduction and the first part of an academic article (10 pages as of today) in 3 months, which seemed impossible a few months ago (I teach a 5/5 and I could not push myself to write anything when I was by myself). Rachel's feedback is very thorough. She is kind but honest and asks a lot of questions to be sure that I know exactly where my next paragraph is going. I enthusiastically recommend her and her services, especially if you are on the tenure-track clock!
