Laura did photos for my wedding and was just such a bright shining star for the job! I can not speak highly enough of her. She showed up early and stayed late and her passion for photography really showed. Her bright smile behind the camera made our wedding day so fun and relaxed but we also could hardly tell she was there which made our photos turn out real. I was very pleased with the photos she produced and would recommend Trueworld Photography to anybody!

Laura spent 2+ hours photographing me, which was much more than was called for to provide me with 5-10 quality pictures. I received closer to 30 high resolution, professionally touched up photos for a cheaper price than anyone else on thumbtack offered me. Highly recommended!

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Since completing my Photography Degree in May 2013, when I'm not traveling or working, you can find me in local coffee shops and bookstores reading up on books from every photography genre, usually taking notes as well! I also have a journal that I keep in my photography bag where I make notes about what I am learning right there in the field. Without this journal I might never remember where that perfect tree is located for a portrait shoot, or what time of day the best light will hit a highrise for an attractive cityscape.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

A strong sense of nostalgia combined with a fervent love for beauty. My whole life I have recorded emotions and places inside countless journals. Finally I stumbled upon a camera and learned that my whole world could be captured inside photographs. I could trade words and lined pages for colorful images. I have never been the same since.

  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I recently shot a wedding at the Capitol Building in downtown Des Moines and photographed the reception in the rain! It was a challenging but beautiful day.
