FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Since completing my Photography Degree in May 2013, when I'm not traveling or working, you can find me in local coffee shops and bookstores reading up on books from every photography genre, usually taking notes as well! I also have a journal that I keep in my photography bag where I make notes about what I am learning right there in the field. Without this journal I might never remember where that perfect tree is located for a portrait shoot, or what time of day the best light will hit a highrise for an attractive cityscape.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
A strong sense of nostalgia combined with a fervent love for beauty. My whole life I have recorded emotions and places inside countless journals. Finally I stumbled upon a camera and learned that my whole world could be captured inside photographs. I could trade words and lined pages for colorful images. I have never been the same since.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I recently shot a wedding at the Capitol Building in downtown Des Moines and photographed the reception in the rain! It was a challenging but beautiful day.
