FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We are confident that our prices are competitive when comparing apples-to-apples. You might find a lower price, but you'll be hard-pressed to find the value that comes from a contractor that guarantees a dedicated field representative to manage your project for you, and that carries a premium factory certification requiring selective approval by GAF, the #1 manufacturer in the United States and Canada.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first step for retail projects is usually to speak on the phone to confirm a few basic details about their roof and siding. We do not install three-tab shingles and are not currently installing metal roofs, and because warranties do not cover laying over existing shingles, every roof we install will involve tear-offs existing material. If the decking beneath the shingles is deteriorated to the point where it won't hold a nail, or if there are cedar shakes or gapped boards, then we will remove and replace with 1/2" OSB. Once we've spoken a bit, we schedule an appointment to discuss material options and to measure the home. If we are able to get out before the appointment to measure, then an estimate can usually be provided during the appointment. Otherwise, it takes between 24-48 hours to work up an estimate. We cannot provide a quote until measurements are completed by our field representative. Insurance work is something that we specialize in around our home office, and hope to establish that same reputation in the Cedar Rapids Corridor. We ask for a copy of the scope or estimate that your insurance adjuster will provide. Some insurance companies will try to get you to collect competing bids, so they can keep as much of your premiums as possible. You cost should be limited to your deductible, and is already taken out of insurance's initial check to you. Our field representatives are available to discuss any questions or concerns you might have about the process, materials, timeline, or financing.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Every field representative and installation crew must complete annual training from GAF in order to offer our excellent warranties.
