Introduction: Hey there! I’m Amanda and I’m the artist behind the lens here at amanda.matilda.photography. I’m a corn-fed Iowa girl just Colorado dreaming. We recently moved to Grand Junction, Colorado and are loving our adventure on the Western Slope! I specialize in creating vibrant, unique photographs for modern couples and creative high school seniors. I also specialize in drinking chai tea lattes, watching cat videos, baking, and watching Gilmore Girls reruns. As an English Major, I’ve always loved stories. I grew up wanting to be an author, but I’ve found a new storytelling medium and I’m thrilled that I get to call this my job! I believe in giving my clients what I would want. That’s why you can browse my pricing on my website; that’s why you’ll get the b&w AND color copy of each photo; and that’s why each and every one of my collections includes the digital files for your enjoyment! Sessions are a workout for me! I spend a lot of the time crouching or laying on the floor just to get an awesome shot. I’m also vertically challenged, so don’t be scared when I climb tables, chairs, rocks, or just about anything I can find to get a little extra height! I will cry at your wedding. Probably. I’m a crier! My couples are just so dang cute and in love and those toasts–the toasts get me every time. When your partner tears up at how perfect you look, or when your father tries his best to resist crying from the memories he shares, I just can’t help myself. The waterworks will start! I’m all about stepping away from the stuffy, same-old photography. One of my keywords used to describe my style is “genuine” because I believe in capturing real moments and steering clear of those overly posed, what-are-you-doing-no-one-sits-like-that photos. I also believe in capturing real people, which is why my retouching is fairly limited — none of that plastic skin, Barbie-doll eyes here. Just the most real you in the most flattering way.
