Introduction: I have been a Personal/Group Fitness Trainer for over 9 years and have developed a unique way of combining my knowledge of fitness mixed with creative instruction and a simplified approach for client comprehension (Equational Fitness Theory). My fitness background includes sports and sports-conditioning, weight-loss and weight-training, group training, nutrition, public speaking, and mentoring. I have coached people from ages 8 to 85, with varied fitness difficulties and abilities ranging from autism, arthritis, and obesity; to general fitness enthusiasts, corporate wellness, and elite athletes such as Olympic Female Gymnastics Gold Medalist, Shawn Johnson. Being inspired by my clients so I can reach new levels of fitness training that helps revolutionize the fitness industry, and the fitness transformation/progression of each client; custom to their individual needs.

    I love to teach people and help them learn how to improve their lives. Being a personal trainer was and still is the perfect fit for me.

    His educational background is from the University of Northern Iowa, DMACC, Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA), TRX, Body-weight Calisthenics, Functional Movement Screening (FMS), Resistance Flexibility Training, and Corrective Exercise Techniques. Originally from Des Moines, Julio attended high school in Decorah, Iowa, where he learned and acquired much of his hard work ethic while discovering his natural passion for fitness through adversity of a sports injury his junior year. Doctors told Julio he would walk with a hobble and was likely to never play sports again. But that didn’t stop him. Julio went on to compete at the Iowa Wrestling State Tournament, participated in track and field (hurdling, long jump, and sprints), started Varsity Football and played 3 different positions (Running Back, Strong Safety and Place Kicker) and would walk on to the UNI football team where he received numerous awards for his skills as a Place Kicker. Julio resides in West Des Moines, IA with his wife Nikki and their 2 children, Jalynn (14) and Elijah (12).
