Introduction: I think its obvious when I work that I love what I do. I take pride in making my work as technically perfect as possible. I do pre-consults with every single one of my clients and I try hard (especially with baby clients) to create and design custom sets to showcase the interests and personality of my clients and their children. I want you to remember who your child is in that moment. You can get a smiling head and shoulder "school portrait" from just about anywhere; what I want you to have are images showcasing yours or your child's personality, interests, and spirit. Those images are invaluable and will be cherished for many years ;) The best part of my job is simply getting to know people. I get to be there for you when you say your vows, when you meet your baby for the first time, when you celebrate your child's milestones, when your child places a loving hand on your cheek. I get to become friends with my clients and that is simply the most important.

Sarah does an excellent job working with young children. She was incredibly patient with my young boys, ages 2-4 at the times we worked with her. I would recommend her in particular to those who have young kiddos who might not think photographers are very fun. Sarah is a mom, too. She gets it.

I have hired Sarah 4 times for several different types of shoots and have been overly impressed every time. She is professional, on time and on task. You can count on her to be creative and yet she listens to your needs for the end product. We loved her so much, I gladly paid more for 2 hours of travel to have her do a shoot. FAQs

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a member of Professional Photographers of America (PPA) and Professional Photographers of Iowa (PPiowa). While I do have a trade degree in portrait photography, I am currently working towards my professional certification and masters degree through the Professional Photographers of America.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started with photography in high school and fell in love! I have always been obsessed with art but lacked the raw talent to paint or draw. While I can do some painting (and I love to do so in my free time), I wasn't nearly good enough to effectively paint what I saw in my head. When I discovered photography I finally had a medium to express myself. I knew from 16 years old that I wanted to go to school for photography and the rest is history!
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I recently had a photo shoot for a VERY busy little 3 year old boy. This child LOVES Transformers. I was literally on my tummy playing transformers with him for half the session and got some really great genuine smiles from him. He was so sad when the session was over that he cried because he didn't want to leave. His mom was sad too I think, because she enjoyed sitting on the couch laughing at us! Before she left she told me that it was the most fun she had had at a photo shoot and was so glad to see her son enjoying the experience :)
