FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing varies on the project but bids are free and I always offer an hourly rate as well. Typically hourly is 45/hr hit one guy and 65/hr for two. We are always willing to work within a budget and a lot of times can find creative way to make things work. Sometimes seem don't seem practical on your budget but you never know until you ask....might just have some left over product or maybe that week is slow so if you are willing to be flexible on timeframe I may just be a little more flexible on pricining, it really just never hurts to ask.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically I get a phone call and we chat about the basics of the project and when you are looking to have the work done. After we go over the general information I come out and talk a little more in depth and get a feel for if I’m a good fit as a contractor as well as if you are a good fit for the caliber of work we generally do. Then me and another guy will typically take pictures and measurements and if no paint colors at specific hardware is needed we will typically send over a quote via email that day or the next. Sometime an extra meeting is needed to go over materials for the job. Me and another one of my guys normally come work a flexible schedule based on your needs and any needs of the job like wether and things like that. Once the job is complete we generally like to walk it with the customer before getting paid. Once everyone is satisfied we collect a check but my phone is always on if something comes up later or a customer noticed something that was missed and we won’t ever be unreachable to past present or future customers.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was a maintenance technician at an apartment complex for 4 years and that is what introduced me to the industry. I then went on to renovate 4-5 apartments a month and started working on remodels she doing general handy man type work on the side. Eventually at the apartments I was moved to “deferred maintenance” or bigger jobs like replacing carports and installing sprinkler systems. I have since started my own company and have accounts taking care of privately owned rental properties and love doing renovations, upgrades, interior and exterior paint, tile, drywall and pretty much anything I can get my hands on. I’ve worked with painters, plumbers, cabinet and counter installers as well as electricians...I’m even known to do a little automotive paint here and there. I love what I do and like to think it shows in my work. I also work with a guy who owned his own painting company for about 19 years who works with me to expand his knowledge a bit and he’s a hard worker that also loves what he does.
