About
Hi! My name is Katie Bissell, and I am an NSCA Certified Personal Trainer. My primary focus is strength training for women. I offer in-person and remote training.
I have a Bachelor’s in Exercise Science and I have been strength training and running for over ten years. I have used resistance training for a number of purposes, including sports performance, injury rehabilitation, and general fitness.
My life belongs to Christ, and because of him, my identity is no longer in what my body looks like, what I eat, or how much I exercise. While I believe fitness is important, I don’t believe we should be consumed with it. I want to help other women set and reach their fitness and nutrition goals in a healthy way. Results aren’t guaranteed in this field, but I will strive to walk closely alongside you throughout your fitness journey.
(On thumbtack the "clients travel to me" option is turned off for safety reasons. For those interested in in-person training I am located in Boise, ID, in the Sherwood West Neighborhood, off Chinden and Maple Grove.)

Before Katie I was doing the same boring routine at the gym 3 days a week (on a good week), not getting stronger in areas I was weak, and not pushing myself. Katie has helped me get confident, strong, and more well rounded. I’ve struggled with hip pain, so naturally I’ve avoided all exercises that could be a trigger. Katie has slowly introduced hip strengthening exercises into my workouts and slowly I’m seeing my hips get stronger! Similarly, I stayed away from running (because ew), but Katie slowly introduced small running circuits after short strength training sessions and now I sometimes look forward to running! With Katie as my virtual trainer, the only battle I have to fight is getting myself to the gym. After I’m there, I look at the document she’s prepared for that week and day. I don’t have to decide what I’m going to do or think about what I need to strengthen - she’s got it all laid out for me!

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
All of my pricing can be seen on my website and in my photos. Those prices are all based on private sessions but group pricing is available and discounted! I am also willing to create new packages if needed to fit precise needs. Send me a message.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We will start with a free consult always! We'll discuss your goals and expectations and decide what package is right for you. This is also a time to get to know each other and you are welcome to ask any questions.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a certification in personal training as well as a bachelors degree in exercise science. I have spent time shadowing a well established trainer in Boise giving me experience at the general fitness training level. I completed an internship as a track and field coach at Cole valley Christian high school, and I ran competitive track at the collegiate level for 9 years giving me experience at the athletic training level.
