Since 1984, Pat has been teaching tennis in northwest Indiana and the surrounding Illinois suburbs, and in 1992, was USPTR-certified. He has guided dozens of students to sectional, local and national USTA rankings, with several getting college scholarships at division 3, 2 or 1 level schools. A lot went on to become instructors and coaches themselves.
I have been teaching for over 6 years, played varsity throughout high school, and played all 4 years at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. I offer many different tennis lessons, both group and private, throughout the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago; mainly focused in the Schaumburg/Bloomingdale area. Please visit my website for my bio, rates, services and other information. I can also be contacted via email.
The lessons are very specific to the student as opposed to mindlessly feeding them balls for an hour and expect them to improve. With these lessons, the students will become confident of their skills because they will understand their unique qualities as players. I like the rewarding feeling of a student telling me that he or she has reached their goal, whether it was to make the varsity team in school, or learn enough tennis to be able to play with their wife. Knowing that I helped them get there is very special.
I am a former ATP touring pro from Johannesburg, South Africa. I originally ranked number 1 in South Africa under 18s with four national junior titles. I played collegiate tennis in the USA, four-time All American honors and a holder of a national title. Recently, I was the winner of 3 Illinois State Open doubles championships and a winner of the Midwest open doubles championship. In the late '90s, I was ranked number 1 in Chicago, singles division. I have been coaching tennis for 25 years, from national-ranked kids to the beginner level, adults and kids. My main objective is to get players involved and participating in this great sport, learning the game, and most importantly, having fun. My teaching style is very different from the normal standard method of teaching that many pros teach in the United States. My teaching method is called the Actions Method, where the game of tennis is taught through four skills, which are as follows: * Perception (judging) * Decision (deciding) * Execution (hitting) * Feedback (recovery) This has been my teaching philosophy. I have had tremendous success with my students; they have improved and enjoyed the game better, so that's what I will go with. Have fun, and I hope to see you on the tennis court.

I teach games and game strategy to kids and anybody who just wants to improve at or learn how to play chess, backgammon (I'm a former Top 50 players in the USA), or bridge. I'm an affable college-educated father.
I'd say I stand out from other yoga teachers because I am very welcoming! We laugh in class, we smile. I talk about the postures and what they are doing for you and your body. I focus on alignment, calm, concentration and strength. My class is a strong class. I do not teach hot yoga, I do not teach yoga with weights. Just good-old Yoga! The thing I love most about yoga teaching is literally the teaching part. I love when a student learns something new about their body or themselves during a class because I myself always love learning new things in my own practice with other teachers. To learn from a yoga lesson with a good teacher allows you to have a stronger practice on your own so that, not only can you rock out at home but, in other yoga classes, you'll know exactly what you're doing, sometimes even a little better than the instructor ;) Knowledge is Power!
