FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
When project descriptions don't have much detail, most of my pricing is based on an hourly rate. The more detail that clients can provide (e.g., brand or model names, pictures), the more likely it is that I can provide a flat-rate estimate even before I'm awarded a job.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have the best kind of education for this kind of work: real-life lessons. I know what I can do, what I'm great at, and where I can deliver real value to clients. And I've learned my limits and the types of projects I may do for myself — but never for a paying customer.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I loved Legos as a kid (and still have most of them). And many of the projects I do today are basically like Legos for adults. Bigger, heavier, different materials, and different tools. But there's still a logic and structure that underpins all of it.
