Before I met Konrad, I struggled mightily with trying to lose weight and improve my fitness. I tried different diets, none of them worked. Tried different one size fits all exercise programs, they were too difficult, and I ended up getting hurt. After meeting Konrad, however, all of that changed. The first thing I noticed was how important it was to him that I met my goals, and that he would do whatever he could to help. Right away, I was impressed that Konrad is in graduate school at Northwestern to become a Doctor of Physical Therapy, as well as his top line health and fitness certifications, so I knew he would be the perfect person to help me out. As my trainer, Konrad developed a diet plan for me that was easy to follow and focused on eating wholesome, nutritious foods. Protein and produce, less ingredients, less processed foods. Secondly, I was impressed at the breadth of knowledge Konrad had as he led me through different workouts. His workouts were designed to target specific muscle groups, in order to strengthen my whole body and improve my functional fitness. I could tell that he actually paid attention to my fitness level, as each subsequent workout continued to challenge me, ensuring my progress. His workouts are always different and exciting, and I left each session feeling like I had accomplished something. He was also very attentive and easy to talk to, he knows so much about how the body actually works! Any question I asked him, he provided an easy to understand answer, without getting too much into the science behind it-a true indicator that he knows his craft! Between the diet and the training I did with Konrad, I managed to lose 30 pounds in 6 months and I am now pain free! I would highly recommend Konrad and his team at Chitown Trainer for any health related needs. He's a true professional, and I would imagine there aren't many other places out there that do as good a job as Chitown Trainer.

I have been a tai chi student of Charles Parker for the last few months. I suffered a stroke in August and completed months of physical therapy, but was looking for something that offered more. Tai Chi promised to be a way to calm my mind and reduce stress along with slow, deliberate, flowing body movements. Although I am a beginner, this practice has given me a way to focus on the positive. Charles has a very easygoing nature and a non-judgmental way of teaching. You are encouraged to do whatever you are able and progress at your own pace. I look forward to class and feel that it is slowly helping me heal and get my strength back.

Great Physical Therapist...highly recommend!
My experience with Lymphatic Drainage and Healing Touch performed by Dr. Sylvia Hood Washington I believe had a positive effect on reducing inflammation in my body. The few days after therapy I noticed less aches and pain in my muscles & joints. I hold a lot of stress related tension in my muscles, so it was great to have some relief. During the therapy Dr. Sylvia kept me informed with what she was doing and why she was doing it. I liked how she integrated different modalities along with the lymphatic draining. She incorporated some yoga stretching and breathing as well as healing touch techniques. On top of relieving some of my inflammatory muscle and joint pain, Dr.Sylvia found an inflamed lymph node under my arm. It was likely inflamed because I was feeling on the verge of a virus. She was able to drain the lymph node and we could no longer feel an inflamed lump under my arm. I believe this procedure helped me to beat the virus that never transpired. In addition to being a Certified Lymphatic Therapist, Dr. Sylvia has vast knowledge and expertise in the medical field as an Environmental Epidemiologist and Public Health Professional. She has the ability to treat a person holistically while helping them discover how their environment may be affecting their health issues. I would highly recommend Dr. Sylvia Hood Washington as a Nautropathic Doctor for Lymphatic Wellness.

The experience I have gained working many "Jobs" trying to find my true calling allow me to understand many of the positions my patients deal with. Understanding my patients is the first part, treating them is second and third is teaching them to self care and not rely on me.

Hands-on, one-on-one care that is solely based on the client’s goals. 15 yrs experience working with the a very diverse patient population has helped me develop a treatment approach that is whole-body (and brain!) oriented. In addition to techniques of manual therapy for joint and tissue mobilization, neuromuscular re-education, strengthening and flexibility, I have been certified in Trigger Point Dry Needling for 5 years, and I have found this to be an absolute game-changer for my practice. This technique has been a huge help in all of my patients, which span from serious athletes and weekend warriors all the way to internet surfers; problems from pain when doing pull-ups to the inability to walk due to neurological injury. And if needles don’t sound appealing, don’t worry! I have many other tools in my toolbox to get you what you need to get better.
