It is extremely difficult to explain complex medical diseases and procedures just by words alone so I hired Myles Hundley (www.myleshundley.com) 3D artist to do several 3D animations for me. I explained to him that I needed to show what caused neck injuries (such as high velocity manipulation by a chiropractor, self-manipulation, forward head posture such as in texting or working on the computer) and how these forces stretched out the ligaments in the neck causing neck instability. I also needed him to animate how the vertebrae sliding or moving too much (called cervical instability) pinched on nerves in the neck and stretched blood vessels (such as the vertebral arteries). The conditions I needed him to illustrate were Barre-Lieou Syndrome, Cervical Radiculopathy and Upper Cervical Instability (C1-C2 instability). I also had to show how the treatment I did, Prolotherapy (Regenerative Injection Therapy) strengthened the ligaments, thus causing stability in the neck and resolving such conditions as neck pain, vertigo, dizziness, ringing in the ears, facial pain and many more. As you can see it is a very complicated task to accomplish all of the above and make the videos, life-like and easy to understand.
Myles did various drafts and though he lives far away from me, we just did skype conferences and I explained what I felt needed to be changed or added. Myles throughout the process was very attentative, patient, understanding and of course very skilled. The net result was six 3-D animations that exceeded our expectations. I have used these 3D animations for promotion on the internet, You Tube, our newsletters and of course our website. I will tell you one story that really hit home for me regarding the power of Myles videos for explaining Prolotherapy and the healing power that it has.
Recently I taught 3 doctors in the Dominican Republic Prolotherapy. One doctor was an endocrinologist and two were orthopedic surgeons (I am a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Specialist). Prolotherapy is an injection technique that stimulates the repair of injured structures such as tendons, ligaments, meniscus and labrum so the person doesnt need surgery. It can even keep people away from joint replacements such as knee replacements. I started my training with the Dominican Republic doctors by first lecturing for 4 hours and showing and explaining the Myles videos. They clearly showed the ligament injuries, the vertebrae moving, this then pinching on various nerves causing such conditions as Barre-Lieou Syndrome, Cervical Radiculopathy and symptoms such as migraines, tension, neck pain, vertigo, dizziness, fatigue, racing heart and lightheadness. After the conference, one of the orthopedic surgeons Dr. Mateo said to me I honestly couldnt understand how Prolotherapy was going to get rid of all these symptoms until you showed that 3D video. That is what put it all together and I could then get what you were trying to tell us that almost everyone who suffers with vertigo, migraines, tinnitus (ringing in ears), lightheadedness and neck pain has Barre-Lieou Syndrome and needs Prolotherapy.
So professionally I am grateful to the work that Myles did for Caring Medical. It has helped us educate prospective and current patients on Prolotherapy and the conditions it treats. He has also helped me educate doctors so that they can truly understand what Prolotherapy does and how it helps unpinch nerves, even doctors who speak another language because everyone speaks 3D animation language. I wholeheartedly recommend Myles Hundley.
