FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My fees are tailored to each project and broken down by phase—such as schematic design, documentation, and construction administration—so you only pay for the services you need. The exact amount depends on the size of your project, the deliverables required, and your construction budget, with typical total fees ranging from 6–12% of the construction cost. This structure keeps costs transparent and ensures you get the right level of support at every stage.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We’ll start with an on-site meeting to get to know each other, explore your goals, and outline the scope. From there, I document the site, research local requirements, and develop a series of design options with your ongoing input. Once a direction is chosen, I coordinate with engineers and builders to refine the details, estimate pricing, and prepare permit drawings and applications. During construction, I stay engaged to answer questions, solve challenges, and ensure the design vision comes to life. The process is flexible—whether you need just the essentials for permitting or a full-service design, down to the last finish and fixture.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Temple University and a Master of Architecture from the University of Washington. I’m a licensed architect in Illinois, Arizona, and New York, with over a decade of experience delivering projects nationwide, from remote island cabins to high-end urban hotels.
