OMG!!! If you are wondering what DJ/MC to book for your wedding, look no further. BOOK RICO NO SUAVE & DJ NUMO DAN!!!! I am 100% a Type A, Perfectionist Bride, and was very transparent with all my vendors about this up front. Not only did Rico No Suave put my mind at ease after our very first conversation, but he was extremely responsive throughout my entire planning process (1 year) AND he made sure to work with ALL my vendors to make sure the day ran ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!!! From Ceremony to Reception, Rico made sure my vision of what I wanted came out exactly as I had planned. Not only were the "Dynamic Duo" (Rico & DJ Numo Dan) keeping the excitement up throughout my entire reception, they were engaging with all my guests which made it that more special. All of my guests (who are 30's and older) who have been to many wedding, have said it was by far THE BEST WEDDING THEY HAVE EVER BEEN TOO!! And have all said they want Rico & DJ Numo Dan's numbers for future events. If you are looking to have an absolutely PERFECT wedding experience for your guests, BOOK THEM!!!

Rick was awesome! I had a small wedding but he turned my reception into a total dance party like no other. 5 stars for you, Rick and your team. My family members and friends were so impressed and all said amazing words about him. If you are looking for an MC, look no farther. Maggie and the DJ were outstanding too. Rick's coordinating and hosting skills are not just professional but he was also very compassionate making sure that I and my fiancé were comfortable and guests were well attended. At the start of the wedding planning all the way to the end of the wedding day, Rick was very detailed and organized. Maggie was also sweet, like a sister helping us out and making sure things are flowing smoothly. I had very good feedback from guests saying that they had so much fun! All thanks to Rick and his team. FYI Special Occasions Events is also affordable, you will be getting more than your money's worth! Thank you, Rick -- from Ross and I.
I cannot even begin to express my gratitude to Rick and his team of pros who helped make my daughters wedding perfect. I found Rick here on Thumbtack, stuck up a dialogue on what our needs were. He then came out to our house to continue the conversation and we found him energetic, knowledgeable on all current and older music, gentlemannly and was obviously a pro in all respects. We ended up hiring him not only as our DJ (he brought a second DJ pro along) but also hired a photo booth (what a blast with tons of props) from him and 2 lovely ladies for party help from him! Rick and his colleague DJ not only kept the dance floor packed but also got down on the floor to lead the line dancing, revved up the guests for the out of the box introductions (think Star Wars theme music and a light saber tunnel) and delivered more than we could even begin to ask for. 0n a scale of 1 to 10 we give Rick and his crew a 20!

My husband and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary at the Hard Rock Hotel Chicago. Our party was an 80s theme. We wanted to enjoy ourselves so we looked into having someone MC & host our event. After careful research, I selected Rick @ Special Occasion Events. Rick came dressed for the occasion, engaged the crowd, and got everyone dancing. Rick has lots of energy, and everyone ended up having a blast. My next special event, I'm certainly going to call Rick. If there were more stars to give as a rating, I'd give him enough stars to reach the moon.

The SOE was EXCEPTIONAL. Rick MC'ed and got everyone engaged with the party and the night's events flowing seamlessly and efficiently. DJ Mambo played all the right songs to connect with our audience and get the dance floor hopping. The lights and the DJ booth set up were great as well. THANK YOU!!!!!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We offer a FREE consultation to understand our clients requirements. Then if we are selected then we proceed with a signed contract, then we start the work with preparing with the event with the customer. We keep great communication with the customer and documentation to make sure that we stay on the same page. With the new customer we keep a timeline of what events are going to take place and when(eg..Wedding). After the event has been completed we followup with the client to go over the event and make sure that their requirements were met.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We have videos and we attend seminars to stay on top of the latest and greatest ideas to expand our knowledge. Sometimes we may be invited to attend seminars out of state that may be helpful to our clients. We love doing presentations to our clients of what's new out there and to look forward too.
