Michael Aragosa Plastering
About this pro
Michael was completely unprofessional in the end. He came out May 1, 2018 and gave me a decent price for the work but having just started getting quotes I waited a day to review other contractors quotes. I called him to tell him I've decided to go with him and ask him for the proposal. I sent him my email via text at 4:34 on May 1. By Thursday, May 3rd still no proposal and told I'd have it that evening or Friday May 4th and he told me that the job can be started the next coming Sunday and finished Monday. I waited for proposal. Saturday May 6th still no proposal. I asked him a third time and as told I'd have it that evening and that he planned on coming tomorrow to start. I said fine and asked him what time he was coming and he proceeded to blow me off. His reply was "I had totally shifted my schedule to fit you in and I feel you are displeased already. I'm sorry but I have to pass on the project." He acted as if he was the only concrete contractor in Chicago and like I was doing him a favor. Instead, he wasted a weeks wrth of my time when I could've been getting more quotes. Be careful with this one and ask for a proposal on the spot. I was not in a hurry to get the work done. All I wanted was a proposal and what time his crew was coming to start work. It's apparent he cannot handle the stress of being busy and is fortunate enough to turn away work he agreed to start.May 8, 2018Verified
I am working on a kitchen renovation and had to move a wall. I hired mike to plaster a wall with matching texture as the other walls in the room. I was amazed how good it looks! He also fixed cracks with with a bonding agent that helps prevent the cracks from coming back. I HIGHLY recommend using mike for all your plaster work.Mar 21, 2018Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Generally I try to charge on a "per day" basis. If there are two men on a job for one day, then that is considered "2 man days" then material is figured out and added in. I never charge for estimates and I always want my clients happy so that they will refer me to a friend.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have taken many classes and have certification in the following: Aerial Work Platform Operator Training Lead Awareness Training Asbestos worker Certification Scaffold Competent Person Certification Osha10 Safety Certification OSHA 30 Supervisor Safety Certification California/OSHA Stairs and Ladder Safety Certification
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I started plastering when I was fresh out of high school and the first job I worked on was for the ambassador of Switzerland in a high rise condo on East Lake Shore Drive. It was the largest condo I ever saw, at that point in my life and I loved going to work and learning something new every day.
