Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I like clients to bring in pictures of looks they like so I know what they want. I am very creative, detail-oriented, and a perfectionist. Every person is different. Each face is a canvas - where we go with it is based on what the client desires and my own ideas and creativity. I enjoy the freedom, the relationships, and the flexibility of my job.

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I was reading beauty books when I was eight years old. I did a lot of theater as a child and teenager, which required putting on stage makeup. I also had four younger sisters who liked having me do their makeup. By 19, I was an Avon lady. In my 20's, I sold Mary Kay Cosmetics part-time and made up my first brides. Makeup was always a part of my life!

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Look for someone with solid training with reputable schools and companies.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

I trained for 600 hours in the esthetics program at Pivot Point International in Bloomingdale, IL, from 2007-2008. I have been a licensed esthetician since 2008. In school, I studied skin care, makeup, and waxing. I studied makeup artistry in 2014 and 2007 at both Media Makeup (with celebrity makeup artist Amanda Shackleton) and at Makeup First, both in Chicago, IL. I have worked as a Makeup Artist/Beauty Consultant for Studio Gear Cosmetics (at Chicagoland Ulta stores), Aveda, and Estee Lauder. I am also familiar with aromatherapy, having worked for Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics and as a Body Care Buyer at Healing Earth Resources.
