We built our site from scratch, and had a very unique and specific vision for our site. My Web Design won the bid because they did the research before we initially met, they understood what we wanted, and confirmed that they had the software and capability to create our site. They were very responsive, and also very patient with our responses when there were delays on our end. We found that emails and calls worked well for the day-to-day, but got the most value out of face-to-face meetings due to the visual interaction and impromptu discussions to wrap up the bigger more pertinent discussion items. We are very pleased with the finished product, and would recommend My Web Design to all who show an interest or need for their services.

Ryan and the team at Plaidypus have been incredible to work with. I've now worked on two custom software applications with them to help my clients improve their business. I've also worked with other companies in the past and what sets Plaidypus apart is their process from the first concept to full implementation of the software through client on-boarding. I will continue to reach out to them for all of my custom software needs

Ken and his team developed programs for my business to streamline and automate the processes which formerly required mountains of paperwork and manual tracking. From purchase order requisitions to rental order tracking our workload has diminished while our business has grown. And all the programs are integrated with our website and our accounting software. Awesome team with relentless ambition and hard-working enthusiasm.

At TeK Heroes, our goal is to provide a full-service electronics and software service and educational company. We fix, create and modify electronics and software. We also teach you to create electronic and software devices through our kits and parts offered on the website (coming soon! the website is being redeveloped around this goal). We won't list what types of electronics we specialize in fixing or building because we fix and build electronics and software at its core. What this means is that, when you understand electronics and electrical engineering, all electronic devices are fundamentally the same and therefore specialization is unnecessary. In the repair business, specialization is popular because other companies use repair techniques handed down from the companies that create the products or that they find on the internet. This can be advantageous when a common problem is encountered because you would receive a fast and cheap service. But the drawback is that, the exotic problems will either not be fixable or will cost you an arm and a leg with varied results. We at TeK Heroes have advanced degrees and extensive experience building electronics, and therefore we fix electronics from an electrical engineering point of view. Because of this, we can give you an assessment up front for the repair you will need, and if we can't do it cheaper than the people that specialize, we will refer you to someone that can! We also build custom software and modify existing software to meet your needs. Some examples of work we have done may help you to see what is possible: * Zune to iPod conversion device. This device converted iPod commands to Zune commands in order to allow an iPod based docking station to control a Zune MP3 player. * Interfacing modern software packages to antiquated industrial CNC machines. * Created interfaces between electronic devices. We have built many cables that interface between electronic devices. * Custom software packages to track business or personal data. E.g. Tracking tardiness at an elementary school, tracking small business data, and tracking of spare parts for different products. Hopefully this gives you an idea of some of the things we can do. Feel free to inquire about anything that deals with electronics or software. I'm sure we can help you or at least point you in the right direction to get your problem solved.

I'm a freelancer since January 2015. Before, I worked for 14 years at one of the most importat innovation institutes of Brazil, C.E.S.A.R. As a collaborator of this institute, I had the opportunity of working in projects for large customers such as Dell, Motorola, HP, Whirlpool and Bematech. I used to be the leader and the focal point of these projects. Leadership and good communication are some of my strengths. Also, with great experience in Object Oriented Programming and Design Patterns, I'm able to produce code with high-quality and good manutenability. Besides, I'm enthusiastic about User Experience. I like very much to work in front-end of systems, developing a friendly and fluid graphical interface. Between my skills, I also can highlight Agile Methodologies (Scrum and Kanban) and development with remote teams. Finally, here is a concise list of the most valuable technical knowledge I possess: PHP, Python, Java / JEE / Android, C# / .NET, SQL, HTML 5, JavaScript and CSS.

We work on e-commerce, mobile, and content management systems website design and development. We provide quality output at a reasonable cost.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How do I find a good app developer?

A good app developer can help you if your company wants to build a new mobile app for customers but you don’t have an IT or development team on staff. First, decide whether you want an app made for the iPhone or Android phones or both, then start your search by finding an app developer with expertise in your chosen platform. Ask for samples of their work, such as code samples, that can be tested on open source repository sites like GitLab and GitHub. You can also interview firms that specialize in mobile app development for small companies or startups; they should be able to offer examples of different types of apps they’ve built, and are likely to have expertise in a range of technologies and platforms. Before you sign a contract, make sure to ask prospective app developers these questions:

    • What other apps have you developed? Make sure the apps in their portfolio reflect the type of work you want to have done for your company. It’s especially helpful if they understand your industry.
    • What technology and development services do you offer? Ideally, an app developer will conduct a business analysis, develop the app, perform quality testing and make sure the launch is successful.

Will you maintain the app after it’s launched? Releasing an app is only the beginning. You’ll need someone to maintain it too, releasing updates and fixing bugs.

    Who builds apps?

Apps are usually built by software developers who specialize in mobile software. They may be experts in just one mobile software development language or know several, and may have expertise in front-end or back-end web development. No matter what kind of phone or tablet you carry, there are hundreds of apps for it — and new ones seem to be added to the app stores every day. Before you hire an app developer, it’s important to have specific goals for your app and a clear idea of its purpose. When your company is ready to build an app, you can hire a freelance app developer or work with an app development company that can also support the app after it’s launched. It’s important to know whether you’ll need the developer to provide ongoing maintenance and support or if your internal IT team can maintain it after its launch.

How much does it cost to hire an app developer?

Software development is a serious investment for any company, costing thousands of dollars for even basic apps. It’s tough to estimate costs because there are so many variables to each project: user requirements, feature set, complexity, size, etc. Mobile apps can cost from $20,000 to more than $100,000, depending on what you need the app to do. The average national cost of an app developer is $237.50 per hour, but prices vary widely depending on location, type of app, features, and much, much more.

To get a sense of what hiring an app developer might cost, decide first what kind of software you need. In general, app developers charge hourly fees based on the language they’ll use to code the software. Freelancers cost less than large software development firms, typically charging an average of:

    • Basic C development: $75-$150 per hour.
    • Front-end web development: $50-$75 per hour.
    • Back-end web development: $75-$150 per hour.
    • API development: $75-$150 per hour.
    • Desktop app development: $30-$100 per hour.
    • Mobile app development: $30-$150 per hour.

Larger software vendors charge much more, often as much as $300 to $400 per hour.
