Introduction: Daniel is a trauma-informed, person-centered, and integrative therapist, who ensures the space where he welcomes his clients is their space, not his own; he cherishes his clients' safety and privacy. Through his inviting, warm, and understanding nature, Daniel emanates a culture of trust. He ensures that the therapeutic journey with his clients will be shoulder to shoulder.
Daniel has extensive knowledge about the disease of addiction, and the strain it can create in familial and interpersonal relationships. Daniel also has a deep understanding of the recovery process, which spans across 12 step programs, harm reduction models, SMART recovery, and refuge recovery. Daniel utilizes an integrative and holistic approach, which emphasizes mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual balance and well-being. This approach acknowledges underlying causes of addiction, identifies triggers and cravings, promotes physical fitness, and increases self-confidence and self-esteem.
In addition to his specialty in substance abuse, Daniel’s integrative approach embraces individual therapy, couple’s counseling, and family sessions, where he treats men’s issues, anger management, co-dependency, anxiety & depression, personality disorders, co-parenting, and relational issues. He utilizes CBT, DBT, and acceptance-based clinical interventions to help clients master their thoughts, emotions, and actions, empowering clients to take the efforts necessary to see healing and lasting change in their lives.
Daniel has worked in various settings including therapeutic day schools, high schools, outpatient clinics, and intensive outpatient treatment centers. He earned his Masters in Social Work from Loyola University.
