I experienced Judo instruction in high school for about 6 months. Then in college for over 1 year I studied Japanese Karate and many years later, 2 years of Shotokan Karate.
At age 68, after experiencing various physical issues, I wanted to try an age appropriate martial arts to keep my reflexes beyond par and learn new skills. Unfortunately, some of the teachers I observed before choosing Peter Honigmann, forgot the need to tone things down for seniors, especially those with physical issues. Then I met Peter, whose style of teaching an amalgam of the best of the various styles, fit perfectly into my needs. He teaches situational personal defense so a student of any age and any ability can know what to if they encounter various dangerous situations, potential and actual. My fellow students and I enjoy the 1 hour class and look forward to it. It also says something when prior students renew.
