Introduction
25 years of teaching experience. Hundreds of references on the north shore of Chicago. Beginner, intermediate, advanced, all levels welcome. All ages on rock, jazz, blues, classical on guitar, bass, mandolin. Band coaching also available. If your band wants to win you battle of the bands, have a great performance at your variety show, or just needs help, I have worked with dozens of bands, helping them with arranging, mixing, harmonies etc... Music has been my passion all my life. I have been playing for 35 years, teaching performing recording for 25 years.

Matt is a great teacher. Very focused, and is keeping me on track! He teaches a wide variety of music, but it seems to me that we share a love of the same type of classic rock, and that comes through in his teaching.

Matt is an excellent instructor, his knowledge includes many musical genres. As a beginning bass guitar adult student without any musical training after only a few lessons, I can honestly say that I see growth in my abilities. I highly recommend Matt!

I started working with Matt several months ago and I've grown tremendously in my ability to improvise and play bar chords. This, in addition to improving my fingerstyle was my goal. Matt is extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of music, but he flexes to the areas you want to focus on....you're the customer in his mind. I decided to focus on the basics vs moving too far into fingerstyle, and Matt was able to give me some simple theory that helped me build a foundation. This was critical for me, as I definitely wanted to understand, not just follow blindly. My only recommendation for Matt, is that he keep some basic notes on his students, so he knows what their homework was and where they left off. He's a very generous teacher, not focused on the clock, and I would strongly recommend him to anyone looking to grow during their musical journey. He will remain my teacher and jam partner in the future. Victor

Matt is a wonderful teacher! He takes time to learn what kind of musician YOU want to be and what YOUR musical tastes are and develops your lesson plans from there. Some of the things that he has taught me have stuck with me years after his lessons. Highly recommend.
