About
We take pride in our expertise and always complete projects on time. We are licensed bonded and insured. Customer satisfaction is our top priority. My favorite part is when we get called in by the fire department to board up and restore properties after a fire. Being able to help people rebuild after disaster strikes is truly rewarding. The bond that you create with your clients is inexplicable when you're able to make a difference in their lives!

I have a charming historic house in Hinsdale built in 1976. Was charming except for the basement, which I considered "the dungeon" until Nick recently remodeled it! It has a stone rather than poured foundation, typical of its age, that has been a problem since I moved in 30 years ago. The walls crumbled over time as mortar between the stones disintegrated. It's been very hard to find anyone who knows how to address this problem. Over the years several people put cement on the walls to stop the crumbling, but none ever did a very good job and it needed to be redone every few years. Nick Duta was the only one I met, who seemed to know what to do with it. I was impressed from the start at how extremely detailed and complete his proposal was. His crew spent a number of days just hammering out all the loose motor from the inside walls, and part of the outside, which no one else ever did. They dug a trench outside the house at the worst cracked wall, removing all the disintegrated mortar there, then put layers of waterproof concrete on all the inside walls and gaps in the outside wall, and sealed the outside with additional tar and foam. They also broke through the outside stair-landing concrete and installed a drain, tying it into the inside basement drain to eliminate rain water accumulating outside the door. They then repaired the existing basement floor, cracked due to water damage, putting down wire mesh and a 2 inch layer of concrete over the existing floor and then vinyl tiles. They also replaced all the galvanized plumbing pipes that I had thought was done when the house was remodeled 5 years ago by another company, but learned from Nick that they did not actually do this. Finally they put in some needed electrical outlets and built tasteful looking closets with louvre doors around all the basement utilities (Washer and Dryer, Boiler, Sump pump etc), also installing a new hot water heater and utility sink. Thanks to Nick my basement is no longer a dungeon, and now looks quite nice and is very functional. This was all done at what I believe was a fair cost. It was a pleasure doing business with Nick as he is extremely competent, honest, conscientious and hardworking. He has high standards and can address almost any infrastructure issue. He is easy to work with and attentive to one's concerns. I felt extremely lucky to have found him to do all this difficult work! I would certainly give him my highest recommendation and am hiring him again to rebuild my front staircase, a measure of my satisfaction with his work.
