Brian Kuehn has provided photography services for the Willow Hill United Methodist Church where I serve as directing pastor. He is the photographer of choice for church events (such as Confirmation Sunday, fellowship activities, and other special church gatherings). Brian has also served as the photographer for several weddings that I have officiated including weddings in the worship center of the church and at off-site, less formal settings. Brian has an excellent grasp of the practical and technical side of photography. But even more impressive is his creative ability to compose a photo to make it interesting beyond simply being a "snapshot" of a moment in time. He works well with groups of people. Trying to get 20 teenaged confirmands to cooperate for a photo is one of the most daunting tasks a photographer could face ... but Brian is able to produce an excellent photo every time. I believe his fees are very reasonable and competitive. It is always a pleasure to work with Brian as the photographer for a church event or a wedding.

Brian photographed our wedding 33 years ago, and as we recently celebrated an anniversary, we once again enjoyed and appreciated the great memories he captured of our special day! His creative ideas and calm demeanor made the photo shoot a delight. We were so impressed by Brian's skill and results that we engaged him to photograph our daughter's wedding, 25 years later! Brian excels at photography, and has a lifetime of experience in all facets of it, even including darkroom work and camera repair. He is personable and pleasant to work with, and prompt in supplying the photos. I absolutely recommend Brian for any photographic event.

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I fell into it naturally....I love taking photographs.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I have NEVER failed in a wedding photography assignment. You hear horror stories about the photographer whose pictures "just didn't come out" (more common when film was the medium). Make sure you have someone reliable and capable. You only get one shot!

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

There are lots of people holding themselves out as wedding photographers. Owning a digital camera does not a wedding photographer make. I served an apprenticeship in several portrait studios, back when portrait studios were found in every town.
