We signed Lakeshore's contract to construct a walkway for a given price. After sending a check for the first 50% to start work, their representative showed up saying that the job would cost an additional $1,600 to comply with village building requirements. Lakeshore should have done their homework upfront before submitting their contract to ensure they had priced the job correctly. The contract was therefore cancelled because of the additional money being requested and our check was returned uncashed.

Hi Michael, Based on the signed contract, it was mentioned all work is pending based on village approval. We don’t impose the code, your village does and we have to comply with that. If you have any questions please contact us at 847-429-2332.

While we were pleased with the end product, we found that we had to constantly follow up to get the project moving or completed. The actual construction was fantastic but the project management and communication were pretty bad.

Lakeshore came out promptly to inspect my damaged deck in Aug. 2023. I was prepared to hire them, but first they suggested I pay $500 for an engineers report which I paid. The report was promised in 14 days or money back. A month went by and still no report. I made phone call after phone call and they broke promise after promise. Now 3 months have went by and still no report and no refund. They wasted months of my time and have yet to refund my $500. I will be reporting them to the BBB. Do not trust them. W.J.
