- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have a fixed rate by the month, for one lesson each week.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
This varies greatly depending on whether the student is a beginner or someone continuing their musical education. With a beginner, I start them learning to read music right from the first lesson, and show them the correct way to hold and play the violin. By the second lesson, they are playing a simple piece, and it's "up" from there!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Arizona, Tucson in Violin Performance, I studied for ten years at the American Conservatory in Chicago, beginning at age seven, then left to go to college in Arizona. I have done post-graduate study at both Roosevelt University in Chicago, and at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb Illinois. I subscribe to several violin/music publications to stay informed, and I am constantly practicing and learning new pieces to play!
