Introduction: I love teaching math, and nothing makes me happier than helping students succeed. I always say doing math is easy - it's learning math that is hard. That’s why some of us need one-on-one attention to achieve our goals. When mastered, math increases self-confidence and thinking skills that relate to everything else we do in life. Originally a computer system designer and programmer, I now have 10 years experience classroom teaching split between high school and college and more years than that with private tutoring, and I couldn't have chosen a more meaningful, and enjoyable career switch. Please bring any notes from class and your textbook if you have one. I discover student skills, weaknesses and temperament quickly, build upon what he or she brings to our meeting, promote confidence in self, and bravery for creative analysis of each math challenge. We will both work hard. When the student missed class - I teach the lesson. I help with homework, not only completion but also big picture comprehension, and faster, more accurate calculations without a calculator, when appropriate.
