Tim showed up to the site early today and had already started shooting the exterior of the building before I arrived. He was highly efficient and did a great job editing with subtitles. The HD video is very well done and was delivered to me same day! Tim was insightful, professional, and gave me good artistic direction. He also had a great attitude and was very personable. I will recommend him to others and certainly use him again for my videography needs.

Working with the talented Tim Frakes is both a blessing and a privilege. Tim is a creative problem-solver who clearly understands the artistry and science of communicating emotionally and effectively through sight and sound. I highly recommend Tim to any organization that is looking for innovative solutions delivered with the highest level of efficiency and professionalism. He is truly a gifted and knowledgeable videographer and editor — on par with any of the best I have worked with at some of the top video editing facilities in Hollywood.

We've worked with Tim on several projects and found him to be a consummate pro. He can follow instructions and scripts that are presented and, if need be, can come up with his own scripts and flow. We have used Tim's talents for everything from short, one-off interview footage to a 3-hour+ video documentary series. His ability to work with us during the editorial and refinement process has been sterling and delivered with a side benefit of cheerfulness. On top of it all, he knows how to juggle multiple projects and deliver them on time. Highly, highly recommended!

Tim Frakes is, in my mind, the preeminent one person crew for video documentary work. he has a great eye, is an amazing video storyteller and is totally equipped for post-production. While his skills are valuable in any setting, it is internationally where Tim really shines. He is experienced, fearless and comfortable dealing with people of different cultures and nationalities. And he is a joy to work with!

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I began my media career at the West Chicago Press, a weekly newspaper in DuPage, County Illinois. After high school, I enrolled at Harding University in the school of journalism. They required spelling so I moved to radio. That led me into television. The rest, they say, is history!

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

I produce documentary and image video for non-profit, faith-based, broadcast and corporate clients. Recent productions include a six episode series on the history of Christianity in America, image videos for faith-based groups, a series of three music videos produced in rural Haiti and a Jazz concert series.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Non-profit organizations looking to broaden their development base and reach new audiences, need to focus on story-telling. Testimonials, presented in a creative, social-media friendly format get your audiences talking to each other about you! That's great marketing.
