I shared my positive experience with Frosted Cakes via email with Thumbtack directly but I’ll reiterate what I said via email. Initially, I was hesitant to use Thumbtack again after my unfortunate experience with Svyat Bogdanov Photography, where I believe my funds were unfairly withheld despite no official services being scheduled. He never clearly communicated that the deposit was nonrefundable, nor did we have a signed contract or confirmed date or location. This left me feeling concerned that such issues might be a common theme among professionals on your platform and that these practices might not be sufficiently monitored. However, my experience with The Frosted Cake Bake Shop reaffirmed my faith in Thumbtack’s value. The process was professional, respectful, and transparent. She provided detailed information, clear expectations, and a proper contract. I confidently paid my deposit for my upscale graduation party Gala scheduled for October 4, 2025. I didn’t tell her about my experience with the photographer I found on your site but she unknowingly reassured me that not all professionals are dishonest or untrustworthy, and I am looking forward to working with her. I appreciate the platform that connects people with reputable professionals, and I hope my positive experience can serve as an example of the quality service Thumbtack can facilitate. I hate that I am out my $360.50 paid to Svyat Bogdanov Photography and am now going to have to pursue getting my money back via small claims court which comes with fees but I’m going to follow through with this because this type of business practice should not be allowed. Thank you for your continued efforts in maintaining a trustworthy platform for the most part and also attempting to address my issue with Svyat Bogdanov Photography even though I feel you all should have the ability to issue refunds.
