Now expanding to the Chicagoland! Fresh from the San Francisco Bay area. I am the total package in event planning. I offer fresh innovative ideas, have relationships with the best vendors and my execution is flawless. I have 15 years of experience and am always looking for ways to stay ahead of the game. I also customize planning packages to suit each bride individually giving your wedding day the uniqueness it deserves. Though weddings are my main avenue of business I also help plan other social engagements such as bachelorette parties, vacations, retreats, teambuilding events, baby showers and corporate/networking events. I"m a social butterfly and really enjoy being in a support role. I love that event planning challenges my creativity making each day different from the last. Every event offers a chance to learn something new or do something new. There is never a feeling of complacency. Zakiya and I met first through email and phone conversations. Right off the bat I knew she was a professional that took her commitments seriously. I had made initial plans for our event (a 2nd wedding/reception for my daughter) - I had booked a venue, found my DJ, and had a catering group ready to go. Z was ready to do everything necessary to handle the event - and was very happy to take my contracts with vendors and be the point person for all conversations going forward which was a great relief for me. She knew the right questions to ask, formed a timeline, and went right to work. (She will do it all for you - secure vendors, event locations, etc... - whatever you need) Z met with us at the venue to get a good feel for the site. We walked the area, made notes, discussed decor and plans for the night. She spent time with me going through the different items and pulling together the decor for the various areas of the room. It all fell into place smoothly. I was so pleased with the work Zakiya did for us. Our venue couldn't have looked more rustic romantic than it did after she decorated and pulled everything into place. She was there from the beginning of the day until the end of the event and beyond. She made sure everything ran according to plan, making the event so enjoyable for myself and all who attended. Zakiya is a professional! She took charge of all aspects of the event from start to finish. She was in constant communication with me throughout all stages of planning and event day. I couldn't be more pleased with my decision to have ZEvents plan our special day. Thank you Zakiya!!!!

While we had some ideas on what we wanted, we had NO idea how to plan our wedding. Zakiya was there EVERY step of the way. She gave us AMAZING discounts, ideas on how to save wedding costs, worked WELL below our budget, and offered great suggestions to make our wedding fantastic. She kept in touch with all our vendors throughout the whole process leaving us worry-free with the little things. She always made herself available, and gave us little reminders here and there on what was left that we needed to do as the countdown to our wedding was coming up. Fully professional and never was late on anything. She was also a GREAT day-of coordinator! We felt our wedding went flawless and was beautiful from the ceremony to the end of the reception. She even helped out for the caterer!! You will NOT be disappointed in hiring her!!! Thank you SOOO much Z for all your hard work towards our wedding. It truly was beautiful, amazing, fun, and memorable!!!!

Zakiya did an AMAZING job coordinating our wedding. She was prompt with responses to my questions, gave beautiful recommendations for decor, and knew the vendors in the general area. During pre and post of our wedding, she kept us on track on making sure we have everything we need, and making sure we have enough time to do everything we wanted. Hats off to you Zakiya! Zakiya absolutely crushed it as our day-of coordinator. Incredibly on top of everything (for months before the actual day-of, by the way!), was responsive, super easy to work with, and just generally awesome.
