Introduction: My name is Grant Connors. I have an exercise science degree with a minor in nutrition from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. On top of my degree I am an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer. I have been coaching for a little over 4 years. My training philosophy puts a heavy emphasis on technique and mastering movements before progressing intensity. I am comfortable with people of all ages and goals, my specialties would include building muscle, strength, improving cardiovascular fitness and powerlifting. I myself have a background in long distance running and have been an active powerlifter going on 3 years.

Personal Training

Someone who is reliable for you is Grant. He is a motivator and is there for you when he says he will be. I needed fitness help and he was at my call guiding me to mental & physical success. It was his strength that pulled me up in a time of need and anyone would be lucky to select him as their trainer.

I knew when I turned 70 I needed help staying in shape. I wanted to improve my balance, increase my energy level, loose a few pounds....and be able to tuck my shirt in! My husband and I reached out to Grant to be our fitness trainer. We both had different levels of physical fitness. I have never been an athlete and as such had no understanding of what training entails. On top of that I have arthritis and believed I had limited capabilities. Within a short time of working with Grant I began to achieve my fitness goals and I've never felt better. Grant uses his knowledge, patience, and many different exercise routines to make my workouts fun. I really appreciate his expertise and approach to someone of my age. At 65 years old I felt it was more important than ever for me to take physical fitness seriously. I was always fairly health conscious but knew that having a pro construct a fitness plan would be an asset. So, I began working with Grant as my personal trainer 4 years ago. My goals were to improve my energy in daily life, add strength & toning, and to loose a few pounds. After a few months under Grant's guidance I began to see remarkable progress on all goals. I work with Grant 2-3 days a week. He is super at accommodating my schedule. Each workout is carefully constructed to my needs- working my upper body, lower body, and core. And due to his vast knowledge he is always introducing new movements to keep the workouts fun. Indeed , time flies during our time together. After all these months together I continue to attain my goals and am in the best shape of my life.     I like to spend the first handful of sessions establishing goals and expectations as well as finding weak points and/or limitations.

    I have a degree in exercise science from an ACSM accredited program, a minor in nutrition, an ACSM personal training certification, and am CPR/BLS certified.
