I started out looking for a living/dining paint job. I ended up doing the entire house (except kitchen). I couldn't be happier. They did an excellent job of painting and repairing the cracked walls. Rick will be installing interior and screen doors off my upper balcony. Lori is an incredible worker and Steve is the only person I found that has the knowledge of plastering and glazing. They are resurfacing my fireplace now, and will be back again to fix my kitchen remodel that another contractor did last year. Couldn't be happier with their work. They feel like family!!! Work is still ongoing, but will post another review when everthing is complete...

Good work, fair price. Extremely knowledgeable about all things construction and for the most part is the one actually doing the work (doesn't sub-contract). Made many good recommendations beyond the initial scope of the project, while not pressuring us into anything we didn't want. At the tail end of the job it did seem that the dedication diminished a bit - I got the sense that we weren't a priority being they'd only come maybe once a week to work to finish off items. I actually ended up finishing up several things myself just so they'd be completed in a timely manner. Overall a good experience, however - he and Lori are great people. Only advice would the same regardless of any contractor chosen: clearly outline services, prices, and timelines. And only pay after everything is completed.

I hired Rick and his team to rehab a house that I was flipping in Waukegan, IL. When he came in to give me an estimate, I knew I was going to hire him. He knows what he's doing, he is full of ideas, he has the experience and it shows. We put together a list of things that had to be done and Rick added in items as the project went along. He always communicated with me and sent me pictures of the progress, which was great for me because I worked during the day and couldn't be around much to monitor the work. This was a big project, from re-doing an entire kitchen and bathroom, flooring, interior and exterior paint, demo'ing, pouring concrete, changing windows, to all the little things, like putting in new doors, installing railings, outlets, and so much more. The entire project took a little longer than I had hoped, but a lot of it was due to Rick being very detail oriented, thorough, and overall doing an excellent job. I would hire Rick Grosskopf again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a professional, dependable, and hard worker who will get the job done. Thanks again to you, your wife Lori and your entire team.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

    My father was a remodeling contractor specializing in insurance loss, so I was able to see buildings and projects from all different aspects, and then make them new again for the clients.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

    We do mostly complete home rehabs. However, we also do many other projects including decks, deck modifications and rehabs, new kitchens and bathrooms, room additions, and general home maintenance. We also perform commercial remodeling
