I hired Rick and his team to rehab a house that I was flipping in Waukegan, IL. When he came in to give me an estimate, I knew I was going to hire him. He knows what he's doing, he is full of ideas, he has the experience and it shows. We put together a list of things that had to be done and Rick added in items as the project went along. He always communicated with me and sent me pictures of the progress, which was great for me because I worked during the day and couldn't be around much to monitor the work. This was a big project, from re-doing an entire kitchen and bathroom, flooring, interior and exterior paint, demo'ing, pouring concrete, changing windows, to all the little things, like putting in new doors, installing railings, outlets, and so much more. The entire project took a little longer than I had hoped, but a lot of it was due to Rick being very detail oriented, thorough, and overall doing an excellent job. I would hire Rick Grosskopf again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a professional, dependable, and hard worker who will get the job done. Thanks again to you, your wife Lori and your entire team.

Rick and the Grosskopf team have been an essential part of our projects. We first met Rick while sourcing General contractors for a substantial rehab of a residential home. Rick started our first project and it was clear that his workmanship and communication skills were among the strongest of any contractor we have worked with. Ricks willingness to reach goals within timelines, exceed expectations, and go beyond the job to add his personal touch has been exceptional to work alongside with. It is no surprise we have hired him exclusively for our proceeding projects. I would recommend Grosskopf Construction for any job large or small. I cannot say enough about working with Rick and his family! We probably talked to 8+ contractors trying to get work done on our first home, which we purchased a few months ago. Not only did Rick understand our wants and concerns but he understood that we needed to stick to a budget. During our first meeting he actually stopped me because I kept saying "I know it's not in our budget..." He asked, "What do you want this to look like?" After I explained, he not only provided options to make it what we dreamed of but did so with options within our budget. Other contractors told us there was no way that could happen in our budget. Similar to other reviews, he always went the extra mile and even threw in small jobs to make the area better. I can not say enough about Rick's attention to detail and honesty. I don't know how we lucked out, but I hope Rick will always be around to do work for us - he was the first contractor we ever hired and were spoiled! We coincidentally purchased a groupon to do some unrelated work after Rick was done and it was a night and day difference in terms of professionalism - Rick made our lives so easy during the process and gave us exactly what we were looking for! We will definitely be calling Rick for any future work on our home and constantly refer him to people...

Rick was very professional, timely, and went above expectations to do a great job painting. He also noticed cabinets needing a touch up and a railing that was not installed properly. Fixed it up and was excellent at attention to detail.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

    My father was a remodeling contractor specializing in insurance loss, so I was able to see buildings and projects from all different aspects, and then make them new again for the clients.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

    We do mostly complete home rehabs. However, we also do many other projects including decks, deck modifications and rehabs, new kitchens and bathrooms, room additions, and general home maintenance. We also perform commercial remodeling
