FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I am a very clean person and proud of the work I do so I figured it would be a very wise career choice because I am the best. I know that people have careers and work long hours and with the stresses of jobs, children, bills, life in general, that when they come home from a long day at work and walk in to their house and see a mess, it's more stress of 'when can I clean this? I'm tired.' That's where I come in. It makes me feel proud to know that I can help families that are overwhelmed.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
The largest portions of my jobs have been deep cleans. That includes mopping all floors, then hand wiping along the crevices that the mops miss. I wash all baseboards and some walls where needed. I do bath tub scouring, dusting, washing dishes, laundry, I move furniture to vacuum every area, I do junk removal, document filing, I organize cabinets, closets and file cabinets, I clean interior windows (if reachable,) I clean ceiling fans (again, if reachable,) I also organize clothing dressers.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Be sure to include what kind of mess the cleaner should expect. Include all rooms you want cleaned, whether you want your baseboards cleaned, your cabinets washed out, etc. Housekeepers need to know this so they will know what cleaners and tools to bring. Also, it is best if you supply your own broom, mop and vacuum because if you have the housekeeper bring theirs, you are taking a risk because technically, they are transferring dirt from one house to the next.
