PLM Creative Communications

Introduction: I provide journalism and marketing communications services on a freelance basis to self-employed individuals, small businesses, nonprofit and not-for-profit organizations, and students. Specific services include, but are not limited to: Proofread -- Correct grammatical errors, misspellings and typos (per U.S. English standards); indicate stylistic preferences (according to AP Stylebook); suggest minor organizational and format adjustments. Copy Edit -- Proofread, plus: Provide simple rewording, grammar and vocabulary changes; write headlines, subheads, blurbs and photo captions; recommend a Content Edit or total rewrite, if deemed necessary. Content Edit -- Copy Edit, plus: Rewrite paragraphs, sections and/or chapters; suggest types of additional information and research needed, including possible resources; make organizational and format revisions. Write -- Conduct extensive research and interviews; write articles, essays, Web site content, newsletters, press releases, executive messages, speeches, sidebars, talking points, headlines, subheads, blurbs and photo/graphic captions for all types of media; offer graphics and layout ideas. Copy Write -- Create original, effective copy for any type of marketing communications vehicle, based on a concrete concept (for individual pieces or all campaign collateral); offer ideas for campaign strategies, promotions, event plans and additional marketing avenues. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and have 25 years of professional experience as a publications editor, writer, copy editor and research editor; copywriter and communications creative; Web site writer and editor; and communications director. I have worked within a variety of industries in the corporate world, as well as the publishing arena.
