FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Service visit / diagnostic – $92 Covers the trip to your home, testing the appliance, and a clear explanation of what’s wrong. Repair labor If you approve the repair, your $92 diagnostic is waived and labor for most repairs starts from $135 + the cost of parts. Parts Parts are always additional to labor. I’ll give you a clear quote before any work is started. Travel Service within about 35 miles of Indianapolis is included. Beyond that there’s a $0.78/mile travel charge. When repair makes sense Repair usually makes the most sense for appliances valued around $800+ new. If I think replacement is a better move, I’ll tell you straight instead of taking your money for a bad repair.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Quick intake. You send me a message with the appliance type, brand, and a short description of the problem (any error codes, noises, leaks, etc.). Schedule a window. We agree on a visit time and I give you a realistic arrival window. On-site diagnosis. I inspect the appliance, test it, and explain what I’m seeing in plain language. Clear quote. I give you options (repair vs. replace if that makes sense), with total estimated cost before I start. Repair: If I already have the part with me (in my vehicle), I can usually fix it on the same visit. If a special part needs to be ordered, I’ll tell you the price first and schedule a quick return visit to install it. You only pay for the repair labor and the part.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have hands-on technical training and several years of field experience working on major home appliances, plus ongoing manufacturer and industry education. I’m also EPA 608 certified for working with refrigerants in cooling systems. I stay up to date by studying service manuals, bulletins, and new model updates so I can diagnose problems efficiently instead of guessing and swapping parts.
