About this pro

restored a family piece for me. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Nice to know somebody with such skill!May 27, 2017Verified
Dan did a fine job chalk painting and distressing a large pine dresser in our master bedroom that had been stained "red maple"; a piece large enough that I did not want to tackle it myself. He put a lot of work into it and the finish feels like satin. I have been doing a fair amount of chalk painting myself lately and, although I use a paint that requires little or no prep (Annie Sloan), the work Dan did has a much nicer finish than my DIY pieces.Mar 26, 2017Verified
Daniel came to my home picked up my King size headboard and foot board which matched the bedroom set. I wanted it cut down in size for a Queen size bed. Want to keep the bedroom set until I die and I realize that King size beds do not fit well in small apartments. We bought the King because my husband & I together needed the room. My husband died over 10 years now and I just do not want to continue to pay for the high priced King size bedding. I also planned to change my bed to an adjustable frame. It was just a few weeks and he had it done. He brought it back and not only assemble the frame but also assembled the frame of the adjustable bed I purchased online. He did not have to help with that but I am sure glad he did as it would have taken me all day. I am very please with his service. As you can see from the photos his workmanship is exquisite. You can not even tell that he cut the ends and reattached the posts. I would recommend Fine Woodworking for any project that need quality care and craftsmanship.Jan 28, 2017Verified
Daniel did a great job and is very thorough in his work. He pays attention to detail and the complete job is exactly what we expected. He installed kitchen cabinets/sink/countertop in an apartment for us as well as fixed a toilet issue. We had a side issue come up at our house during this work and he offered (and did) come there as well. Would def hire again.Jan 16, 2018Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?no. each item or kitchen is different. each customer is different.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?just talk. every customer is different with different hopes and dreams or needs. if i can understand those thoughts i can usually work it out for them.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I subscribe to every design magazine available. I am looking for interesting colors, textures, finishes, style changes. Ideas that combine new with existing. i have had more years experience than i want to admit to. i have studied with historic windsor chair makers and historic wood turners. i have also studied with historic methods of furniture finishes.
