- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It is a very difficult thing to look at your work and put a price tag on it. I have worked very hard to develop a price that is both accessible and reflective of the quality of work that I produce. While I am not at this time negotiating the price of my work, I can negotiate the amount of work that I do, which would then be more affordable. If you want a 10min highlight with a feature film, but only have a budget of $1,000.... rather than saying "no" altogether, I can offer you a 5min highlight video that works within your budget.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I always like to start with a consultation. I'd like to get to know you, and give you a chance to get to know me. This can be over to phone, or simply through emails. Once I feel confident I understand what your vision is, then I write up a contract that puts it all down on paper. I send that to you for review and once it has been signed, I send the invoice for the deposit. Once the deposit is paid, you can sit back and relax. I touch base again in the weeks before the wedding, just to double check all the details, and I send the invoice for the final payment (due on the day of the wedding) and then it's all smooth sailing from there :) At the wedding, I try my best to stay in the background and let you enjoy your day. I may give you some direction occasionally during downtime, but for the most part, I like to capture those beautiful candid moments. After the wedding day, the amount of time it takes me to edit usually depends on what time of year it is. The fall is the most busy, and the winter is the least. I deliver the digital file via Google Drive, and also provide a YouTube link for sharing! I have a lot of couples that I still talk to or interact with on social media! I love it when a gig turns into a friendship! This is not required but it is very fun :)
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My undergrad was in video production, where I learned how to create cinematic looking videos and films. I also studied theatre, where I learned SO much about storytelling. With both of these informing my filmmaking today, I can create beautiful wedding films that are both aesthetically stunning, and emotionally moving. I always aim to tell a story in the most truthful and beautiful way possible.
